FREUD Sigmund (1856-1939) - Lot 133

FREUD Sigmund (1856-1939) L.A.S. to his beloved Edward. [Vienna], February 27, 1920. 1 p1/2. in-8 on paper with his letterhead and address in Vienna, in German. Interesting letter about the forthcoming publication in New York of his famous work, Introduction to Psychoanalysis. Freud acknowledges receipt of $100 and gives the London address where the rest of the money is to be sent to the account of Dr. Ernest Jones (an English psychiatrist who will help Freud leave Austria in 1938). While he was pleased with his nephew's efforts to get it published, and with the knowledge that he had a good reputation in the United States, he couldn't help expressing doubts about the financial interest of the operation. Introduction to Psychoanalysis was first published in France in 1922. Expert : Céline MARY
