JACQUES ADNET (1900-1984) FOR THE COMPAGNIE DES ARTS FRANÇAIS Suite of 8 modernist chairs in rosewood. Overhanging front legs and side belts assembled by L-shaped squaring. The rear legs are slightly saber-shaped, and continue into projecting backrest uprights. Slightly sloping seats and backrests (re)upholstered in ivory leather. Late 1920s. H. 82 cm - W.42 cm - D. 48 cm Condition and restorations, non-original upholstery and trimmings. Bibliography : Art et Décoration - November 1928.
